When I switched on the dishwasher it began making a very loud noise so I did the usual first step in effecting a cure; I gave it a good shake. This had the desired effect and it behaved perfectly for the complete wash. However, the next time I switched it on it misbehaved again and no amount of shaking had any effect.
I suspect the pump motor has either packed in or become partially jammed with something.
Any ideas about the best way to proceed in identifying the cause of the noise and the possible replacement of the motor?

Perhaps something caught in impellor of drain pump or wash pump.

Power off, investigate each pump for foreign objects.

Thanks for suggestion! Removed the larger of the two pumps but it ran smoothly. Haven’t inspected the smaller one yet but will do. Could it be possible that a water inlet valve hasn’t opened and the smaller pump is running dry?
