Replacing Broken Catchplate

Hello, I wonder if anyone could advise, I’ve been searching online with no luck so far. I have an Indesit dishwasher DIF 04 UK, and the catch plate (the actual plastic bit that sticks out from the dishwasher to lock into the door) is broken. It had snapped off and was stuck in the door. I’ve received a replacement part from the manufacturer, however I can’t seem to find any guidance on how to actually install the new catch plate – and I’m assuming that the broken pieces are still stuck inside so would need to remove those first. Would I need to remove the entire top part of the dishwasher? I’m not sure how to access where the catch plate goes.
