    Hi all,
I bought a second hand fridge/freezer Philips whirlpool. Very old model. I switched it on 2 days ago and it does switch off automatically which it should. Its just on continuously. I think it has faulty thermostat. I search online but its about £35. My question is can I buy one from emay £5 and fix it.

Please ur help would be appreciable.

    Re: Faulty thermostate

1 the unit maybe not switching off for 2 reasons

1 the fridge is still too warm and the unit is still trying to get it down
poss fault lack of gas or compressor

2 the thermostat is faulty but I would expect the fridge to start freezing things

    Dave
