ParticipantAnyone familiar with this glass washer? I have been looking at this one as a favour for a local community run non profit cafe who have reported it doesn’t reach the higher level temperature required to bring out the glassware dry nor will it run the end of day drain cycle at the first attempt. Also the spray arm only appears to run at very near the end of cycle (last few seconds).
It has performed correctly for me on several occasions but relying on information received from several of the volunteer staff I have checked the tank heater, the boiler heater and both resettable TOC’s all ok. The heat when the cycle has finished seems hot (whacks you in the face on opening). The drain I have observed running freely and with good volume. There is two changeover relay blocks along side the control board and they can be observed functioning but I have heard them once ratcheting like a bad connection (all connections checked/tightened. My thoughts are the control board as all described issues are relevant to the sequence and timing of events. All wiring and connections are sound.

there will be 2 heaters
one in the rinse tank and another inside the wash tankdon’t know the model but some models plug into a normal socket and others need a 30 main. it all boils down to the number of cycles per hour the machine can do. if you run the machine too often then the rinse water may no be hot enough. some machines wont run till the tank is hot enough

Hi Dave
Thanks for the quick response much appreciated, you are right in that the machine has two heaters but both of them are operating fine you’re also correct in that the machine wont operate until it reaches temperature which takes about 45 mins from cold and then stalls between use until it once again reaches temperature which it indicates on the display with a series green bars. It does everything you would expect of it some of the time then others its been reported the temperature is not hot enough and therefore leaving things wet, the spray arm doesn’t rotate until seconds before end of cycle and the end of day drain cycle wont complete first time (which I have witnessed).

“arms wont rotate”
have had blockages into pump glass bits, plastic straws etc . low water flow means bars don’t turn or do you mean the motor does not start?
“drain cycle4 not completing” could also be glass bits.
What I find is staff are not taught to clean these units properly and tend to remove all the filters before cleaning out rubbish that may fall into the unit and block it

Hi Dave
I will strip out the recirc pump and check for any obstructions, the arms I know are clear. I’ve been reluctant to do that to press as I’ve always seen it running as it should. The drain pump is clear I’ve had that off already plus it comes out with some very good volume and empties in seconds. I’ll let you know if i have any joy!
