ParticipantHello,
I replaced the heater element on this dishwasher a couple of years ago and successfully sorted the problem and cleared the error code. The dishwasher has been fine until recently. The new problem is that the dishwasher doesn’t heat up during its normal wash cycle but DOES heat up during the drying cycle. This results in the wash tablet being released but still virtually in one piece sitting undissolved in the bottom of the dish washer.
So the question is does this dishwasher have two heaters – one for heating the water and one for the dryer function or does it use the same one for both functions or could it be something else?

that is an odd fault and there is only 1 heater
if you select a quick wash does it heat then. The quick wash does not do a pre wash so interested to see what happens

Dave,
I’ve just tried the quick 30 min Eco-wash – I did put a tablet in to see if it would dissolve. At first I did think it was heating the water – I opened the door to check after 15 mins. At the end of the cycle the dryer was working but the tablet was undissolved which I can only assume means that the water hadn’t heated which fits in with what’s happening on the longer wash cycles.
It may be that the water is heating a little but not up to the required temperature. Could this be a thermostat fault?

An update to this issue.
The water is heating up but not to the required temperature. I say this because the dishes are not always clean and for some reason or another the dishwasher tablet does not drop out of the container – we have taken to dropping this into the bottom of the dishwasher. So I suspect the thermostat is at fault. I’ll change this but also want to change the heater element. Can you point me in the direction for these parts please?

changing parts for no reason would be silly
check a few things first
heaters either work or no 99.9{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the time so if it is heating the chances are is ok and does not need changing
if the unit is hot is it the heater that heating up the water or is the unit plumbed to hot water ?
if you get poor wash performance check all the bars for blockages also check the tube inside that goes to the top bar. where the tube plugs into the base it fails and pops out over time reducing washing pressure to all bars

to get accurate part info I will need the 12NC number like 8511 747 15880

Buy that man cigar!
Not sure if its solved the issue – and cannot believe that I missed it, but the bar at its base was totally disconnected! Just reconnected and already the washer sounds like it once did.
I think you may well have resolved this issue – I’ll let you know. Thanks Tallpaul
