ParticipantHi all,
Have a Siemens SN66T095GB/86 which is about four years old.
It’s completing a wash cycle but water is cold and it’s showing E10 error at end of cycle.
After looking online, I acted a bit hastily and ordered and yesterday fitted a new heat pump. Still no heat. Still have E10 error. Checked old heat pump ohms with a multimeter and seems fine so issue must be elsewhere.
Checked water level during cycle, looks fine.
Siemens website shows E10 as “fault in the drying system” This machine has the Zeolith drying system and I see there is a heating element, but if this is faulty, would it affect the water heating function?
Anyone got any ideas of where to go next?

Just checked control board. Looks ok – no dry joints or signs of overheating.

Took apart the Zeolith drying unit, can’t get any sort of resistance reading from the heating element that goes between the tank and the fan unit, it also looks in pretty poor shape overall. Going to take the plunge on a new one I think.

Received the replacement Zeolith heating element today and it read 40 ohms across the terminals (as opposed to infinity on the old one) so fitted it this evening and I now have a working dishwasher again, heat aplenty.
Hopefully these one-sided posts will help someone else out if they are in a similar situation! 🙂

Thanks Leigh – it’s posts like these that are so useful to extend everyones knowledge base. I haven’t come across a drying heater in a dishwasher for several years, so it’s good to know they are still using them and the associated pitfalls.
Cheers,
Steve.

Cheers Steve,
The Zeolith drying system in the Siemens/Bosch (and presumably Neff) machines equipped with that option consists of three main components. A metal tank filled with Zeolite, into which goes the heating element (tubular glass and plastic with 4 elements plus a thermostat probe and a non-replaceable fuse) and finally, connecting to the other end of the heating element, is a plastic fan with a small circuit board.
There is a lot online about the heat pump failing but I only found one other post concerning this separate heating element.
