    Hygena cooker hood APP2430 serial no 003213
    Lights failed,on investigation 11.5v transformer extremely hot,beyond holding by uncovered hand.sourced and replaced transformer.lamps now working but new transformer also heating up to same worrying temperature ,too hot to touch ,on continual feed,can’t believe this is normal.to concerned to leave connected.
    Any previous or views welcome.

    are you sure you have fitted correct lamps.
    what is the rating of the transformer ?

    some of these units only use 25 or 35 watt lamp. if you have fiited 50 watt lamps it will over heat

    I looked on a website and found lamps should be 20 watt check yours

    Pretty sure the bulbs fitted
    are only 10 watt each.will check and refit 20w bulbs.

    if there lower wattages then that’s ok it higher wattages that are a problem
