    Hi, I have a NEFF C57M70N3GB combination microwave oven. It’s almost 5 years old.

    Yesterday when trying to switch it to oven mode it made all the right noises, displayed all the right numbers, but it wouldn’t heat up. Just sat forever making the noise. There is a fan somewhere as it was blowing air as it always does though the fan on the back of the oven was off. The oven light was also off and won’t come on. That might be the bulb and just coincidence that it happened at the same time, or whatever caused the oven to fail also roasted the bulb!

    I then tried the microwave function. I was able to make all the settings and it appeared to run for about 2 seconds then it simply switched itself off.

    Anyone have experience of this oven (or similar NEFF) and have a suspect for the fault.

    We are not aware of cases such as these however, sometimes this can be a malfunction of the appliance rather than a product fault however, as the appliance is working currently please monitor the situation and if you continue to experience issues such as this again, please call our Customer Care Team on 03448 928 989.

    had a lot of them with microwave faults but you seem to have failure on both sides

    had one or 2 of them blow the bulb and fry the electronics at the same time but that normally results in no power.

    there are fuses but again it would result in no power on certain settings so my first look would be the lamp and see if it looks like its gone with a bang and then inspect the pcb for damage

    Tammy, think you may have misread. The appliance is not working currently. I’m also unclear as to the difference between a malfunction and a fault. There’s definitely a fault and it’s definitely malfunctioning 😥

    If you’re not aware of cases such as these then I may have a rogue appliance 😈 How’s about a free repair as a gesture of goodwill 😉

    Thanks Dave, checked the bulb. It’s blown but not in any dramatic way, definitely not with a bang.

    Sounds like I may have a number of problems. I might just pass this one onto an expert. At least that way I’ll get some guarantee.

    Just returning to provide an update for those that may experience same fault in future. Turned out to be a thermostat that went probably caused by some sort of overheat event.
