ParticipantHi, has anyone come across suitable (hopefully cheap) brushes for this machine please?
I’ve looked high and low on the Internet and can’t find them at all. A local White Goods repairer can get them at a cost to them of £42, but since the drum bearings are already on the way out, I don’t want to spend too much just to keep it going for maybe only a few weeks or possibly months. Ideally, I just need the brushes or maybe the inserts, not the plastic housings.
The prod. number is 914579831 and the motor is a Welling HXG40A02.MD02.
The brushes have the number 178 stamped into the carbon. I’ve attached a picture of one of the brushes stripped down, to give you a better idea of what it looks like.
Thanks.

would be easier to see the brushes whole
Zanussi don’t list them but they look like

cant be 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} but looks likely
put brush back together, see if carbon slope is facing correct way and terminals are correct size

Hi Dave
Thanks for your response. Unfortunately, they’re not like those ones. They’re back on the machine now, but they look like this:

Hi Dave
Don’t know how you managed that and I’m impressed. I spent literally hours going down dead ends trying to match the machine to a specific brush part number. I couldn’t find anything that tied the two together. The nearest one I found was the one I posted the picture of from ebay Germany and they wouldn’t post to the UK.
Equipped with the part number, I’ve been able to find a pair for £9, cheap enough to make it worthwhile getting it going until the bearings completely fail. I think they’re reconditioned (new inserts) rather than new, but they seem to work okay. Gives me time to carefully select a new machine, rather than rushing out to buy one.
Thanks very much for your help.
David
