ParticipantHi anyone in here work on sub zero products I have been warned to stay clear but I like a challenge and I have fixed a few previously
I was recently called out to 2 x 427r
One had a problem with the led lights only glowing dim I couldn’t find a transformer and when I tested them I found 230v feeding them I’m assuming this light strip is on a board and something has failed on it
The other was only cooling in the 2 bottom draws nothing in the top wine cooler sections although both comps running I don’t do regas work and all the f gas guys I use won’t touch them
I advised to call sub zero but the customer was unhappy with the service from them previouslyJuly 19, 2018 at 10:27 am #456885eastlmark

don’t know for sure but the cooler issue could be that these sections can be switched off and its really complex to know if this is the case or not. Would look in the user manual to be sure.

The cooler has an on off switch but it’s on and temps set
Or is it some kind of demo modeJuly 20, 2018 at 7:25 am #456887ELDAR59

The one not cooling in the wine sections will be a leaking evaporator. Fairly common on these. There are 2 but it will be fairly obvious which one is leaking.

may not be a transformer power supply
essentially it will be one of 3 types
switch mode which is quite reliable output capacitors can blow causing probs
transformer which is very reliable output caps can blow as well
capacitor which degrades over time and voltage dropsDave
