    I have an ISE 1616W.
When I last used the washing machine there was a clunking noise when the water was draining. I thought that maybe something was in the filter so when the wash was finished (which it did successfully) I attempted to pull the filter unit out – something I have done many times previously. However, it is stuck in place.

Do you have any ideas for either of these problems. i thought of running a wash with a de-scaler as it seems possible that scale deposits have stuck the filter in place. However, I’m concerned that as there seems to be something in the machine that is causing the clunking noise, this could potentially damage the machine.

I’d be grateful for any help. Also – I just found out that ISE have ceased trading so my warranty is no longer good. Can anyone recommend an engineer in London (North preferably).

    Many thanks

get a similar problem on hotpoint and other machines where something like a hairclip is half in and half out of the filter. The only cure is to remove the hose entering the pump and clear the obstruction to allow you to remove the filter
