    Hi guys.
We’ve had this Zanussi fridge/ freezer (bought brand new) for 4 years now. Working fine till 3 days ago. The fridge isn’t cooling but the freezer is working alright. I noticed that the back of the fridge section had frost buildup.
We did a quick defrost (over 3 hours of this Great British heat) but the problem persists.
So now we are thinking of doing a passive defrost of 15-24 hrs and then restarting the old fridge again. Is this even worth doing? We’re going to lose so much food.

I’m here for the following –
    1) A repairman quoted £80 all in to fix the problem. He said the defrost wasn’t required. He didn’t look at my fridge. Just quoted off the phone.
    2) What could the problem be? Is this something I can rectify myself?
    3) I keep seeing videos of the fan being clogged up by ice. Hence the fridge can’t cool. Where is the fan located in a Zanussi fridge/ freezer?.

Any help appreciated ladies and gents.

    Cheers,

Anyone will need the model and possibly product code to be able to help you. 😉

It’s a standard unit, nothing fancy so what you describe sounds like a refrigeration system issue of some kind and not a DIY fix.

    Hi all,
So had an engineer come in and he confirmed the fridge is deemed useless and should be scrapped.
    He mentioned the following.
    1) The left side on the outside of the fridge felt incredibly hot but the right side wasn’t. This indicated that there was a coil circulation problem. He said it wasn’t something that couldn’t be fixed but he said that it wasn’t worth the cost.
    2) he also noticed one of the coils in the freezer not working.
    3) the compressor was running really hot.

    Does this make sense chaps?

    What do you reckon?

    Cheers

Sounds like a compressor issue so, not worth doing anything with most likely.

Re: Zanussi Fridge Not Cooling/ Freezer Working fine

    Hi all,
So today I come back home from work and Fridge is working again?

I’m really confused. I placed an order for a new Fridge last night and joked to my wife saying, ‘Wouldn’t be surprised if it works fine tomorrow’. Lo and behold.

Like the last sacrament, the engineer did fill in some gas yesterday after saying, it would be best to scrap it. So could this be the final farewell?

Never buying a Zanussi product ever! Will donate to charity if the fridge continues to work.

    Cheers
