ParticipantHi I have 3 Bosch WAN24001GB (GB/22 & /19) that are adding a lot of time, one is supposedly taking 2 and a half hours to do a 1 hour wash. They are all in shared laundry rooms at different sites used by elderly people that have one hour slots to do there washing so they are getting very grumpy. I have checked they are heating, filling & draining ok. I watched 2 of them jump up twice during the mixed load cycle. First during the wash, then from 15 minutes to 23 when they emptied the wash water and started the rinses. Is there anything that can be done about this or is it normal?
Thanks, DarrenAugust 15, 2018 at 7:51 pm #457377kaibart

As I’m sure you are aware how fuzzy logic works on almost every washing machine on the market this is all dependent on load put into machine and programme selected the 40°c cotton programme when selected with speed perfect option is a hour wash but will increase with (ie) bath towels as they absorb the water so every rinse will take longer hence the longer wash time

For that much hoped for “one hour time slot” these machines aren’t ever going to be the solution. As you can see from the programme time chart (attached) even the mixed wash cycle will go way over that at best. Time jumping up and down throughout each programme to be expected ensuring a perfect wash every time, however long it takes.

Thanks a lot for the advice I will pass it along to the management. I wonder if the Bosch WAB range would be better for them in future to replace the dying WAEs

No matter the make OR model of domestic washing machine they buy the programme times will still well exceed the hour. Average wash times on most garment/load settings are nearer TWO hours….!
There are just two basic options to resolve the issue :-
Option #1 : Replace machines for full commercial units
Option #2 : Allow users at least 2 hours usage of existing unitsAugust 16, 2018 at 7:58 pm #457382kaibart

Or the other option is to supply beko where they can wash a full load under a hour at 30°degrees wash

These newer Bosch are very sensitive to oversudsing so get the user to reduce the amount by at leat a third.
