    I believe you have to be registered and possess the correct C&G qualifications to work on the system.

    Yes.

    You need Gas Safe Handling or something now for all refrigerants bar R600a.

    If you get caught without it, be prepared for a hefty fine at best.

    Same gas same rules. R134a is R134a in any system that uses it.

    thanks so it must be illegal for them to sell it to general public as they do.

    Correct they should not sell it unless you are on the F Gas or Refcom register
