    Hi,

My ISE10 1606W has developed a fault. If we choose any programme other than Quick wash the door opens on pressing start and obviously goes no further.

Quickwash seems to work and get cracking. My wife says has had one or two occasions over the last month when the washing machine has stopped mid cycle.

No fault codes showing. Door warm on quick wash cycle, so assume heater OK.

Does this seem anything obvious? Worth getting someone out and are spares still available if we do?

8 years old, was hoping to get it to at least the end of the ten year warranty period (that was).

All help appreciated. Not sure whether to trouble an engineer or call it a day, don’t want to bail out if something really simple!

    Re: ISE 10 1606W

Well decided it was not worth repairing for me (all sorts of weird problems setting programmes, although if could get working went through the programme fine – I presume a control board issue).

Got 8 years out of the Ise10, guess if the 10 year warranty was present it may have been repaired and carried on for ages. Who knows.

Entry level Miele has replaced it.

I loved the concept of ISE, wasn’t happy with how the company, and particularly the warranty, disappeared though.

It lasted as long as the Bosch before it. The search for non throwaway sustainable products continues.

    ” Got 8 years out of the Ise10 ”
If it was a very hard used machine you did pretty well if used 4 times a week it was no better than some Indesit and any other brand of machine that cost circ 230 quid – I know of plenty of Indesits hanging on by their finger tips at 7 to 8 years old.

” I loved the concept of ISE, wasn’t happy with how the company, and particularly the warranty, disappeared though.”
Neither were a great many other people I can assure you!

” The search for non throwaway sustainable products continues.”
And buying a Miele hopefully you have found the very thing, I personally like the entry level 600 quid odd machine series, but fingers X`d it does not fail and certainly not out of any warranty = £ ouch! Not very likely Miele are going to go cease production is it?

You could always, if you want to, map your ownership over the years of your new machine and update things on a year by year basis on this site; I`m always interested to hear on long term ownership trials and tribulations.
All the best with your new purchase.
