I’ve found a leak at the point where the manifold ( I assume it’s a manifold ? it’s a pipe that carries the water ) enters the enclosed section of the John Lewis JLDWW905 slim dishwasher.
I can’t find an easy way to see inside the enclosed section, so the obvious repair would be to apply Plumbers Gold to the manifold at the connection but what is the black ring at the connection ? Is it a bush or something more complex.
Will my solution be a bodge job ?

A very common fault on Zanussi made dishwashers. Trying to seal it would be a bit of a bodge and the part required ( the complete plastic tube ) is not that expensive. Getting it connected back up at the lower end can be a bit of a fiddle but can be done with a bit of patience.
I will try and find the part number with the model number you have given but to be certain we really need the Pnc or Product number from the rating plate.Re: Leak in Manifold connection John Lewis JLDWW905

Thanks for the info. Looking at the photo of the pipe you have identified and the photo I have supplied it seems that where the leak is coming from is actually at the top of the pipe where it connects to the enclosed section as the attached video shows.
If that is the case, then isn’t it the connection that needs replacing, and not the pipe? But, that is what I can’t get at to see… How is the pipe connected to the enclosed section ?

No, it’s the threaded end of the pipe that breaks under the plastic retaining nut that is on the inside.
It is a very common failure, something I have replaced many times in the past.
You access the top of the pipe from inside the tub.

you will find if you remove the pipe that the pipe has fractured on the thread

Hi Ladom
Following your advice I have been able to undo the top of the pipe from inside the drum and the thread is cracked as you predicted.
I will order the part from your online shop but I need to be able to remove the entire pipe. I am having a problem removing the side panel to get access to the bottom of the pipe as there is a plate at the front bottom corner that I cant see how to separate from the panel? It doesn’t seem to be screwed to it.

Remove the white plastic plinth along the front to access the screw holding the bottom edge of the side panel.

Well I am back ( eventually ). I have tried to remove the white plastic plinth along the front but I can’t see how to remove it ? There aren’t any obvious fixing points / clips to release it. So, how is it removed. please ?

From the manual,
(a) Plastic plinth in free-standing appliances: Remove the two front screws which secure the plinth in position, pull the plinth forwards and release it from the side panels.
There are two screws holding the plinth to the front of the appliance. If you hold the door down you will see them, access not easy, a long magnetic screwdriver helps or removing the outer door panel if you can’t reach the screws.
