    Hello,

We have a Zanussi ZHQ 575 double oven and grill.

I switched the fan oven on to pre heat to 200 c and after a while heard a loud “pop” and noticed it had tripped the main fuse.
I reset the fuse and reset the oven clock, the top oven lit up ok, the bottom on I had been using didn’t. After around half an hour I tried again and the bottom oven worked fine, heating up to 200 c and cooking a dish of pasta.
Today I have tried the same thing and the oven light will illuminate, the fan will come on but no heat.

Could anyone point me in the right direction for a fix.

    Many thanks

More than likely the fan element

I wondered about the element but wondered why after it tripped the main fuse and bottom oven stopped working for an hour, then decided to work again and cooked a dish of pasta only to not heat up at all today ?

that made me think as well

although the element is the first thing to check its not 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} chance of being the problem

if you have a mutimeter you can use it to check the element

    Thanks Dave,

I will take element out and check for continuity. If I remember rightly I changed the element a couple of years back, the grill element went followed by the oven element.
Would I be right in thinking there will be an element around the fan as well as the roof of the oven ?

It’s the roof of oven element that’s not working btw.

    Re: Oven Help Please.

there is an element round the fan looks like
    https://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/3110231 … ment-11530

sound a bit confusing now to try and clarify there are 3 elements in the main oven so you can do

1 convection oven uses the top element and another element under the floor
2 fan oven uses the element above around the fan
3 grill that just uses the top element

if the top element has failed the oven should still be usable on the fan oven setting. Is it ?

    Re: Oven Help Please.

    Thanks Dave,

That’s been really helpful. Tried conventional oven and top element and under floor element is heating up, tried fan oven and fan works but no heat so assuming the fan element has failed.
Just one query, why after it tripped the house fuse and I re set it did the bottom oven Led not light up (but top oven did) then after around an hour when I re tried it it worked perfectly until today ?

    Many thanks for your advice.

    Re: Oven Help Please.

    short answer

    I don’t know

check element and see how it goes. if its gone I find it better to use genuine elements as the copy parts are not as good as the used to be. the link I posted is for the gen part which should be the correct one but there are 8 ovens with similar model numbers so I would need the PNC number to be 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} certain

    Many thanks Dave,

You have been really helpful with your advice. I think I will order a replacement fan element and go from there.

    The PNC number is: 944171208

    Thanks again.

    Thanks Dave,

Have just removed back plate on oven to reveal fan element and is defiantly broken. It looks like it has burnt out in a couple of places with bits stuck to the top!

Once again, many thanks for your help am now going to order a replacement element.
