ParticipantHi,
I was just wondering if anybody else has been having problems with BSH heat pumps in the newer style dishwashers. I’ve been fitting them regularly for some time now, a nice easy job albeit the price of the part but this last week ive had two of the parts bounce. I fitted both of them within a week of one another about 2 months ago.
They seem to be going left right and centre at the moment for me. I must get at least 1 or 2 a week and if the new ones are going to bounce on me Im not sure im going to recommend customers having them done.
It came to my attention from speaking to a few of the previous owners that previous to the heat pumps going they put a dishwasher cleaner through the machine and it was my understanding that maybe the cleaner foamed up a little too much and the heat pump was heating foam up rather than water and overheating. Ive checked with the latest two customers and they swear they haven’t used a cleaner and there was no foam in the machine at the end of the faulty cycle.
I was just wondering if anybody else has been having similar problems with these heat pumps or have I just had an unlucky week.
Thanks
Nick

Thanks Martin, I did a search for Bosch Heat Pump and nothing came up so thanks for the link.
Seems to be a big problem but I just wish I knew definitively what is causing them to go because having two bounce in a week is a real bummer.
I’ll give a few more a go and if I get anymore bouncing i‘m going to have to give them up and tell them to call BSH. Its just they are quite good money and sooo easy to fit.September 8, 2018 at 8:38 am #457801Martin

There are no easy answers to this rubbish design. Various factors lead to them failing, foam built-up from cleaning agents or rinse aid spillage, filter blockage, circ pump blockage, not using salt and so on.
Interrogating the user once you find the element has gone might find why it failed. Other than that either take a hit if it fails prematurely or, as you say, pass it to BSH. 😕

ParticipantTwo causes filter should be cleaned every week otherwise not enough water flow through heater and they most use salt if you look at blown heater it has lots of limescale on it.
but it is a rubbish design, no Toc -
