Samsung RFG23UERS not making ice

Hi all

I’m an engineer by trade but I work on other machines other than fridge/freezers.

I have and issue with my 5 year old Samsung RFG23UERS american style fridge freezer in so much as the ice maker has stopped working. The supply of water to the fridge is OK and the fridge dispenses water OK.

I have today removed and metered our the solenoids for the water valves on the rear of the unit and they are both metering fine for continuity. I’ve removed the ice maker and made sure everything is free in there and all looks OK.

I’ve checked the water feed pipe from the water valve to the ice maker for blockages and can confirm it’s clear.

To my engineering mind my next step would be replacing the solenoid assembly/water valve as there could be a physical mechanical issue??

My question is can anyone please suggest anything else that could be the issue and if so how to test it?
