We will be performing a substantial upgrade to the forums from 10pm GMT on Friday 28th September.
For approximately 8-10 hours the forums will be offline, sorry this is unavoidable.
The platform will change and whilst all usernames will be migrated to the new platform passwords will not be. This is for privacy and security reasons.
Please use the password reset on the new forums to reset your password
We hope to have the new forums fully online on Saturday morning but do please bear with us whilst this migration is taking place as there will doubtless be some teething issues.
But, it will be better!

I’m gonna have to buy an iPhone with a bigger screen as I can’t read the new upgraded format without a magnifying glass 🙁
Hold that thought Martin, it’s not fully done yet with a more mobile version coming very soon.
We had to do this in a particular order, we couldn’t just jump straight to where we wanted to be.

Finally managed to log back in. Problems yesterday confirm what Martin has just said, I was using my iPad yesterday and due to my faffing around and having difficulty in seeing the tiny text boxes I managed to get myself permanently banned. 🙂
Nah I think it was a permissions thing Jim.
Primarily other than the odd person having problems due to old emails etc it was the mods group and WTA as both have permissions that differ and are layered so more complex to sort out.
Overall it’s actually been much smoother than expected.

This is the final version, you should find that the views on mobile are now improved. There may well be subtle changes as we go and learn more about the new platform, just so you know.
The forum search will improve as the indexes rebuild but, with so much here that takes a while.
Any issues please let me or Sudeep know and we will do our best to sort them.
All in all though, it is much improved.

Yes it works pretty good now Ken and I won’t need to buy a bigger iPhone after all
A bunch of stuff has been updated and honed so it should be improved.
Speed generally should be improved.
Search has been rebuilt, it should be way, way better than the old system which I know bugged a lot of people.
Avatars, you can now have a 200×200 image.
PM system now fully back online.
User groups should be pretty much sorted but I know there are still a few accounts that may have the odd issue but, easily solved usually in seconds. Knowing about it is the problem.
Trade forums are now completely hidden until you log in and have access, otherwise, you’d never know they were there.
Probably a bunch of other stuff I’ve forgotten. :S
