ParticipantHi. My ‘Siemens SE64M359GB dishwasher’ (11yr old) is getting stuck in a fill/drain cycle…
If I reset and start again – it fills up to the point the red float (lower left side) activated the sensor switch and the drain pump kicks in. This then drains a little water so the float comes down and so more water is added and so this cycle continues.I’ve taken it apart a number of times to check things and it has worked on and off ie the circulating pump has worked fine… but then at the end, after its washed, it goes into he same fill/drain cycle! I can’t see its the circulating pump if it works sometimes!
I question whether the sensor, once filled, should do two things when activated… 1. stop the filling and 2. activate the circulation pump… could this be at fault and not the main circulation pump?
Note the following:
– Red Float has been cleaned and moves free (sensor stops filing)
– Circulating pump has come on
– Circulating pump moves freely with fingers
– No foreign objects stuck anywhere
– Filters all clean and free of anything
– Does get hot when cleaning
– Enough water pressure (heater element working)
– When i reset, it drains and finishes
– Tap symbol is showing but I think this would show because of the continuous fill/drain situation(have a video of the filling and drain cycle if it helps) 🙂

Moderatoryou don’t state the full Enr number so I cant be 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} certain but its likely to be your impellor jug

ParticipantAwesome- that’s sounds like a possibility. I had seen this and removed it to examine it but it was an enclosed unit. Is there a way I could test to see if this is the culprit?

no easy way to test itthe unit is simply a spinning magnet and a reed switch. as the magnet get close to the reed switch it closes and opens again as the magnet moves away. if you put a multimeter across it on the buzz setting the meter will buzz every time the reed closes. The pulses from this switch allows the computer to count the water in. As the unit get older the reed mis fires and does not count sometimes allowing the unit to overfill
you can either replace the unit or replace the glass reed switch on the small pcb in the side of the unit

ParticipantThe impellor jug was delivered very quickly and I fitted it that evening without any issues, it was a simple fix. The dishwasher is now working and I’m forever grateful for your help Dave.
