Participanthi, and thanks for having me on the forum. I picked up this washer with a burned out door switch. This has been replaced, but with searching and fault finding i have discovered the board has took a hit.The washer attempts to fill but then drains and flashes. If you remove the rear cover and help the washer by turning the drum,it will do a wash up to draining,(obviously not recomended) The motor has had new brushes too,but after removing the main pcb i have noticed under the plate right near the motor triac,i have had some sort of solder burn on board and the triac plate.. Can anyone see this if or not the board track has burnned or something blown off it?ill upload pic soon

ModeratorI am struggling to see the pitures properly as they are slighly out of focus
if you take some more and if the resolution is high enough and clear i can download them and magnify them to have a close look

Moderatorthink your right looks like a transistor was there. Would not think the main chips would survive that. That much current down low voltage circuits I would expect the main chip to be fried
you could ask EMW electronics if they can repair the board

Participantthanks for that,is it worth putting the small resistor back,i have already replaced one which i thought was damaged, prob same rating. I only ask as it seems the board is sort of working as when the washer is going, you can hear the relays clicking, motor working as it should, etc. Its only beginning it starts to fill then empties, cheers

Moderatorwhat you need to firure out is why. cant follow tracks on the photo but at a guess it looks like it may go to the gate of the motor traic. As you say a track is blown then you can say currents in excess of 5A have flow but to where. follow the track, look for places where if not blown the paint is coming off showing its been getting hot
the control of everything goes back to the micro processer. there will be one outlet port which does the motor. if this port has blown internally then unless you can source and solder surface mount chips with lots of legs then your sunk
