Hi, seeing if anyone can assist, the washing machine just keeps spinning and the only way to stop it is to power off from the socket, filter is clear and seems to do the same thing on any setting. Any help or advice really appreciated.

Does it go straight into spin when you set it to a wash programme or does it fill for a time before it goes into spin? If it goes into spin instantly on a wash programme that suggests a faulty control module. If it fills for a while and then tries to spin it could be due to broken wiring to the motor plug tachometer connections

Hi, Thanks for your reply, just spoken to my partner the actual issue is that the machine seems to be stuck on the first phase of the washing cycle. It feels up, the water goes round and round but the cycle does not progress. We have tried different programmes with the same result. On the board there are signs with lights next to them showing the different parts of the cycle, the light normally ‘moves down’ as the cycle progresses but this time it stays on the top sign.

So it is stuck on wash not spin? Are there any lights flashing such as the line of horizontal lights?

On some models a faulty wash heating element can cause this fault.

thanks for the response no lights flashing and it is stuck on wash. It just doesn’t appear to move on to the next phase of the cycle

Then the first thing to check/test is the wash heating element.
