ParticipantOur Zanussi washing machine will not turn on.
Emptied the water via pull out tube and power came back on.
Then cleaned filter and replaced.
Then no power again.
Is there a factory reset or button combo to reset ??.
Machine approx 4 years old.
Thanks for any advice.October 24, 2018 at 3:09 pm #458522Dutchie10
ParticipantI have the same machine, mine is just 6 years old and have exactly the same problem. There is no power, the dials don’t light up and the machine does not start. I will try a day later and the power comes on. But will go off again.
We opened the machine up to see if there was any obviously loose connection but couldn’t see anything.
Perhaps others have a similar issue with this type of washer/dryer and it is a factory fault???October 24, 2018 at 3:38 pm #458523electrofix
Moderatorif its not a mains fault i.e.. faulty sockets then its likely the power supply on the main circuit board that’s faulty.
If this is the fault you would need to be able to solder small components to be able to repair it or replace the board

ParticipantI have problems with the power not coming on too. I set the machine to come on and it won’t…I leave it switched on and after a few minutes it lights up and will then work when I press the start button.
My next door neighbour with an identical machine has a very similar problem.. has to leave her machine for ages after a wash cycle before a drying cycle will come on.
There is definitely a manufacturing problem with these machines.. Our machines are only just over a year old!!!November 19, 2018 at 9:41 am #458525electrofix
ModeratorIs your next door neighbours the same sort of age
your still sounds a bit like a possible power supply issue or the board main computer has a fault
As a long shot on all zanussi washer dryers I always disconnect the dryer heaters and try it with them disconnected. We have had problems with Zanussi machines in the past where small earth faults in the heaters cause all sorts of problems

ParticipantOur machines are the same age as we are in brand new houses and our group were all fitted with these machines. I have just spoken to another of our neighbours and they have problems with their tumbledryer not heating, as does their other neighbour. He also said theirs wouldn’t start on one occasion too. So all the machines in our row are problematic. I will probably try speaking to Zanussi directly, even though they are out of guarantee…
