    My Hotpoint WMD960 washing machine has developed a water leak, which seems to be located towards the front, centre section. The leak only occurs during the end of the washing cycle. I thought I found the problem when I discovered a hole at the bottom of the door seal. I contacted the washing machine suppliers who informed me that the hole should be there and is something to do with the drainage. Is this correct? because it is in the ideal location for the leak that I am experiencing. If the hole is a part of the seal, any idea what maybe causing the leak?

    hole is there to drain water back into drum from the door rubber

    well 2 things happen towards the end of the cycle

    1 rinses. Machine fills 3 times in quick succession
    2 machine spins

    you could try one thing see if it leaks with nothing in the tub. reason for this is if the hole is above the normal water height then without washing you don’t normally get any water getting higher then this. With washing in then water gets sprayed all over the place when it spins
