ParticipantHi everyone.
I’m new here so a big HELLO to you all. π
I have a Beko DWD 5410 W dishwasher. 2 days ago it decided it didn’t want to drain the water any more. I’ve checked the filter and external pipes for blockages and couldn’t find any. Then today it decided it didn’t even want to turn on.
I was wondering whether this is a fault anyone here has experienced and if so do you know how to fix it? It’s no longer covered by warranty and I can’t afford to purchase a new dishwasher for at least 6 months.
If anyone can help I’d be very grateful.
Many thanks in advance. π

KeymasterNot powering up I’d deal with first.
Door switch and lock is what I’d look at first, the door lock in these is known to go and it’s this one if needed:
http://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/1510600100-dishwasher-door-lock
The microswitch is shown as a related item there as they can go also.
Not draining is a separate issue I would think and probably something stuck in it or the pump faulty.

Hi kwatt thanks for posting. π
I found Beko”s troubleshooting instructions today. They tell you to make sure the dishwasher is off then to push and hold the start button and the program button at the same time for 3 seconds then check error codes. Those instructions seem to be generic and also not for my model bue to the fact my model does not have a program button, it’s actually a knob you turn.
However, this led to me pushing and holding the start/stop button in for 3 seconds just to see if anything happened. Well it did… 3 of the 5 LED’s lit up. See image below. I was wondering if you knew if these LED’s are used as fault codes for my model (DWD5410W)?
……I tried to upload the image but a forum message said that the maximum file size is 19KB. I reduced the size of the image but only managed to get it down to 56KB (from 700KB).I uploaded the image here:
https://image.ibb.co/jXD1Cf/20181104-174817.jpgIf that link doesn’t work, the 3 LED’s which light up are…. the program selection light, the rinse aid light and the salt light.
Is that info any use? Otherwise, don’t worry about it I’ll probably buy the door switch and lock part. Thanks for the link by the way. π

KeymasterThe fault codes for this are as clear as mud! π
I think it’s telling you there’s a problem with the heater but I’m not 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} sure.

Moderatorsince the tech says the faults are indicated by the wash and end light and these are not lit I don’t know what your fault is
it says after you run the test prog all indicators blink if no fault found. Did yours ?
to get yours into test mode. switch off, select programme 2. press and hold start button, now turn on and hold for 3 secs. all indicators should come on for 2 secs then it will run a short programme

Hi Dave. π
Thanks for your post.
I did exactly what you said above and saw all lights come on for 2 seconds. Then the wash and end lights went out (other 3 were still on). As soon as I release the on/off push switch all the lights go out and nothing happens.
I’m sure the on/off switch should stay pushed in until you push it again to turn the dishwasher off, but it won’t stay pushed in.

Moderatorhere is how Beko put it
Functional test
In order to enter the functional test mode (short program mode), select the knop position of 2 while the DW is out of energy (on/off is shut) then press the start button and energize the DW and keep pressing on the button for 3 seconds.
All of the indicators turns on for 2 seconds after entering the short program mode.

3. Water circulation , regeneration (60 sn),
4. Detergent (60 sn), heating (to 65Β° C) .
5. After reaching 65Β° , stops heating and water circulation. The water inside is discharged for 30 seconds.
Waits for pressing the start button.
Short program mode will be finishedIn the case of any fault formation, the fault is shown by the program following indicators. Showing is as below:
All program follow indicators are off No fault
Washing indicator is on Water inlet or water counter is faulty

Thanks Dave.
Still no joy. Like kwatt suggested earlier… I’m going to have to replace the on/off switch first and go from there.

ParticipantHi. π
Update.
A minor miracle happened yesterday. My dishwasher decided that it wanted to start working again. I have absolutely no idea how but it’s working perfectly.
It will no doubt fail again at some point, but for now …. thanks very much again for all your help and time.
