A close freind had a dishwasher from high street store installed. there was no socket in the dishwasher space and the engineer asked for an extension lead to run from the nearest soket and left under sink so he could plug it in 😯 . she asked if it ws safe and he said that there would be no problem ❗ . yesterday she had a leak under her sink and water got into the extension plug socket. anyone have any ideas on where she stands with regards to engineer being negligent etc ❓

I would firstly go back to the store and tell them what has happened, the likelehood is they use a 3rd party installation company.

If they don’t deal with it satisfactorily, contact trading standards.

It is certainly not good practice to leave any type of electrical connection in an area where water may ingress 😕

    Dave.
