I’m in the middle of repairing the above Washer dryer. As I am proceeding I have fixed the problems I was asked to check out but I have two questions that I cannot find any information about anywhere.
The HOT fill has now been connected to a hot supply. However I notice that the internal connection for hot water goes to the metal dryer/condenser unit. I would have thought that the condenser would require cold water to work correctly. Just below there is a pipe going directly into the top rear of the drum which I suspect should actually be the hot fill directly into the tub. I have noticed that the hot water valve seems only to pulse occasionally during a drying cycle. Again I would have thought it should be a cold fill that pulses to condense the hot air? This suggests to me that at some point in the past things have not been re connected correctly. With a cold only fill it made no difference but with a HOT fill it does. Finally I cannot find any diagram of the wireing color for the water valves. I want to check the wiring is going to the correct valves.
I have spend a considerable amount of time trying to find the information but to no avail.
Can anyone help or point me in the right direction so I can locate information myself.
Just a last note. The machine now works prefectly apart from the above issues. I am a competent engineer so am able to work safely with such things.

I can assure you there ‘IS’ a hot fill on this machine. There is a BIG C and H clearly identifying which is which.
However your post is interesting. It was originally a cold fill only setup. I thought it best to add hot fill as the facility is there already.
I have seen one photo of the rear of another machine which did in fact only have one, cold, fill connector.
So this raises the question of were there different versions of the same machine with slightly different specs?
It would explain why the internal pipework seems wrong as with cold only fill it makes no difference where the internal tubes are connected as they would all get cold fill!
Any idea where I might get further information on this machine?
Thanks again for your time and assistance.there is no way this machine is hot and cold, both valve should be fed cold water no matter what it says on the rear. I did look up the owners manual and it says nothing but the workshop manual shows the “Y” hose as a spare part on some models
you could ring Hotpoint if you want to be sure but you will get the same answer.
There has been no machines built for hot and cold fill for over 10 years from any manufacturer as far as I knowDave

You are of course correct the manual does only show a cold fill. that being the case my other concerns regards hot water going to the condenser were correct.
Cold only fill explains everything except why ‘this’ machine was manufactured with a hot & cold fill rear panel?
I’m happy to be able to finally say the machine is fixed and now working as it ‘should’.
Replaced motor with second hand unit. Replaced a faulty NTC giving an F03 fault with flashing indicators and cold fill whilst draining. And Replaced waste
water hose with new longer tube to allow raising pipe to worktop height to avoid siphoning.
Great machine and very well build and quiet. I’d be very happy to have one myself.
