Well, since we don’t stand still around here…

We’ve been looking at Repairs@ and working out how to improve it. What we nee is any suggestions that you may have to further develop the module.

So far we are aware of some manufacturers missing, like Belling for example, but if there’s any more you can spot that you think should be on there then please post them here.

We are also aware of the “holiday” request, where you can put the email on hold or divert to another member whilst you’re on holiday etc.

Eventually you should be able to login to the module and alter stuff yourself, like postcodes, brands et all but we’re a bit away from that.

It would be good to be able to specify which makes you do and to get referrals for that make only.

You can do that Linda, but for now we can’t specify that you only o certain appliances on a certain brand. So if you say you do washers fro example, but you only o Hotpoint ones we can’t specify that and if you say you do Whirlpool, but only fridges the system would also asign washers.

To be able to go to that level introduces an immense amount of database complexity. It can be one, but the cost to do it would be pretty substantial.

    Re: Repairs@ Features

It seems that all the jobs we get passed state the prefferred method of reply as E mail, We then fire off a return email which they then return and it all ends in a phone call anyway (assuming they havn’t gone to the online booking on our own site) or they are never heard of again. Wondering if changing the default to telephone rather than Email may be in order as we can then phone them and make an appointment straight away. If they dont want us to phone then they can select that option on the form.

Yes!…agreed! Get rid of the emailing option will save time and effort on the time wasters. You cannot get the drift of any repair request without a direct one to one with the client. Besides it saves a hell of a lot of time if it turns out to be (for example) a 5 year old Beko freezer with a clapped compressor!!!!!!!!

    Re: Repairs@ Features

    Changes have now been made.

    We can edit the manufacturers/brands

We can see how many calls have gone through the system

    We can manage the postcodes

The default is now “phone contact”

    Any more? 😉

And shhh, Dave doesn’t know yet. 😆

    Description: ADSL platform
    Details: 30 May 2005 at 06:28:00
One of our ADSL platforms had an issue which caused it to failover to the standby management card, some ADSL customers may of seen their connection drop at this time. Engineers are investigating the cause with the hardware supplier.
