    Hi all,

My Hotpoint bhwd129 stopped working last night, it looks as if a wash cycle is going to start but it never does, and after a while this happens: https://youtu.be/vtoJDcWJ50M

To stop this I need to power it off at the mains, I left it u plugged for an hour but it still did the same, any ideas what the fault could be?

Main power board failure unfortunately. It is sometimes possibly to repair/replace the small capacitor that has failed. There is a group of three capacitors close together on the board, look for signs of ‘doming’ on the largest of these three, a simple fix for someone who is handy with a soldering iron.

NB: If your machine has a 3 phase motor or is labelled ‘Super silent’ then take great care when handling the main board. Leave the machine disconnected from the mains and do not touch the board for at least five minutes after doing so, the 3 phase boards pack a hefty wallop if not allowed to discharge.
