ParticipantHi, hope someone can help.
We have a JLWM1407 machine that works fine for nearly all the programs, but 3 of the synthetic programs are not lit when you select them on the dial.
Every other program lights up and gives the run time when you select them on the dial, the first 60 degree synthetic wash is lit and shows a time of 1.30, but when you then turn clockwise to the next 3 synthetic programs, the light goes out and the program does not work.
Any ideas ?December 31, 2018 at 6:54 pm #459708washingmachinewoman
ParticipantSounds like something might be the matter with the selector switch on the circuit board, or even the board configuration itself. If you are confident with electronics and how to get to the circuit board, you could have a look yourself and check if the selector bit looks like it’s making contact all the way around, otherwise it’s probably a job for an engineer. Always switch off and unplug before doing anything to a machine.
QER Ltd repair circuit boards, they might be able to help if you find something untoward, see http://www.qer.biz/servReps.htm
If you need to replace the board however, it will set you back between £140 and £180 delivered depending on the machine’s serial number and where you get the part from.January 1, 2019 at 10:12 am #459709Jontie66
ParticipantThat’s great, thanks washingmachinewoman. I am semi competent with circuit boards, so will check this out. As the programs with issues are all in the same area of the dial, it could well be the selector switch not making contact, so will check that first.

ParticipantThanks premend01.
I took it all apart, and the selector switch was a sealed unit on the pcb, but the hole was very dirty. I carefully cleaned it, and put it all back together, but when I checked it, there was no change.
However, when I turned the dial a few times, all of the programs were now available, although the light flickers on a couple of them.
So I think it is a dodgy connection in the selector switch, so will have to invest in a new pcb if it goes again. -
