    Hi all,

I’m in the process of redoing my kitchen and replacing nearly all of my appliances, and would appreciate some suggestions on brands/models. In terms of budget, I don’t have specific limits (numbers below are just indicative). I’m looking for good value but overall trying to keep costs under control.. I’m buying the kitchen through Wren, who have included appliances in their quote (but selected a bit at random) – happy to buy from elsewhere though. What I need:

Integrated fridge/freezer (70/30 split): No frost seems like a good feature to have, but not necessarily must have. Hoping to keep it under £500 or so (seen the Bosch series 2 and some Zanussi fridges at this price level).

Double eye-level oven: Not too fussed about features, except potentially the easy clean stuff (can’t remember what it’s called). £300ish

Induction hob: Appliance I use the most (except fridge I guess). Ideally not one limited to 3.2Kw, but other than that a bit hard to tell different models apart. There was a good deal recently on the AEG HK674400FB, but missed it unfortunately. I liked the fact that all 4 hobs had flexizone/same power output, but hard to say how useful these features are in reality – in my previous house the hob was quite barebones. ~£300-400.

    Thanks!

Integrated freezer? I would go for a non frost free model as there are less components to fail. Keeping the freezer full will inhibit ice build up.

Double oven? at that sort of budget you are looking at Beko, Indesit and low end Hotpoint. Not too bad should last a few years if treated respectfully.

Induction hob? I would definitely consider that AEG even at the higher price, Bosch are worth a look as well.

    Hi Don,

thanks for the answers. What kind of difference would a Zanussi oven (at £420 or so) make compared to the lower end ones (other than catalytic liner?) Finding it hard to assess pros/cons and whether spending more is worth it.

For hob, leaning towards a different AEG model (IKB64301FB) as it’s £180 cheaper with same total/max power, but with the more typical hob configuration (1 large, 2 medium, 1 small). Bosch hobs seem mostly more expensive for less total power, although I have been keeping an eye out as I’ve heard it’s generally a good brand.

when looking at hobs don’t just focus on total power as most of the time you will be simmering and only use the high power on initial heat up

also look at guarantee Beko has a 2 year guarantee on integrated appliances as long as you register the purchase, So has Bosch and Neff

you would need to check the warranty with the seller. Check out John Lewis as they often extend the warranty at no cost
