ParticipantFollowing a “bang” from the kitchen which tripped the RCB, I’ve narrowed down the dishwasher as the culprit. There was no smoke or smells when whatever it was let go & the dishwasher still functions. Just that it intermittently, maybe once a week, trips the RCB.
It’s going to be a real pain to get it out to work on, involving removing the washing machine first, which will also give very limited working space. So just wondered if this sounded familiar to you guys so I can be armed with likely parts.

Moderatoryou say MCB in title but RCB in text which ?
have you took the front off and looked for any sign of leaks ? ( lower panel under the door can be removed without taking it out but you may have to remove outer door
also does it trip when in use or not in use and how far through the programme
if you reset the RCD does it then work no probs or trip again ?

ParticipantSorry, RCB. Couldn’t find an edit button. First time it went with the bang it took out both & I couldn’t reset the MCB until the dishwasher was unplugged.
Haven’t seen any signs of leaks & it wasn’t in use when the bang happened. But I can remove the panel & have a look.
It’s only tripped once when in use but generally when idle. From memory that was quite early in the program, probably before the heating element had kicked it. It’s now on an RCD in the mains socket so when it does trip, it doesn’t take the whole circuit out. Approx half the time I go to switch it on I have to reset the RCD first.
I’m wondering if when I do pull it out I’ll find the remains of a mouse that chewed the cable?

Moderatorwell not sure here as ci don’t know the correct Enr and FD number for your appliance but doing a quick google search got SRS43C22GB
from that I got the picture below. see item 0540 on diagram
these have a habit of going bang so worth a look

ParticipantWhat is it, capacitor?
Sorry, didn’t realise there were so many numbers.
FD: 8612
ENR: SRS43C22GB/04Looks like the part may be 00600233 but can’t see it on your list?

Moderator0540 is 00600233 but you can remove it and test dishwasher (will run without it short term) and if it gone you will see it when you remove it
for listings go here
