    AEG AG 91850-4i larder freezer.

Recently our frost free freezer started tripping the RCD.

It runs for roughly 6 hours then goes quiet for 15 mins think this is when it’s on defrost. Then we think as it tries to start up the cooling cycle it trips.

We then reset the RCD and it repeats the same cycle again then trips.

We would welcome any thoughts on likely causes.

    many thanks.

Defrost heater if there’s one in it would be the first thing to check.

You will need some way to check it’s not shorting or gone to earth. A multimeter will only get you so far with trip faults unless they’re fairly obvious.

Many thanks for replying it seems it might be to difficult a job for an inexperienced person to tackle this repair.
Because it trips at the same point each time during the cycle we thought that it would be easy to detect the problem but perhaps not.
    Thanks
