    Hello all,

I was hoping someone might be able to help me out. I have a Bosch WKD28540GB/03 (FD9110000110) washer dryer and recently had an error (E01) show up on the display. For this model this refers to the water stop being activated, so I checked inside the machine and sure enough there was about 1/2 cm of water in the bottom causing the float switch (?) to activate. I sponged out the water, dried it all off and this cleared the error. However, when I ran the machine I could see the leak was coming from the temperature sensor seal on the back of the drum housing.

It looked like the seal had just popped out, so I removed the wiring, sensor and seal, cleaned all the surfaces and pushed it back in. It seems to be working okay now (no leak), but to me it seems the seal isn’t really that tight in the housing and can be pulled out quite easily (which probably explains why it popped out in the first place!).

So I’m wondering if part of the seal might have broken off and fallen into the machine? I would have thought the seal might have a lip on one end which sits around the collar/shoulder of the housing to hold it in place, but the seal is just straight and just pushes in like a cork, Has anyone changed one of these before and should they fit tightly in the housing? Could I maybe use some silicon sealant (or something similar) to give a better seal and make sure it stays in place?

    Thanks in advance.

I looked up model WKD28540/04 as your Enr number is incomplete so I cant be 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} on the part number but its very likely to be 619286]]

    cant find any pictures though

    Hi Dave,

Thanks for looking this up for me. I managed to find some part drawings on the Bosch site and it looks like you’ve got the right one. I thought that was the full Enr number I included in my first post, I got this off the label on the inside of the door. Anyway, looks like it’s the same part for all models, i.e. 01/02/03 etc. so should do the job. Thanks again.

can see your Enr no now was just looking at title and skim reading the rest

thought they would not change part through range. An easy fix once you have the part

Oh right, no problem, I thought maybe I’d read the Enr wrong. Yes easy enough to change, I’ve managed to get it working again over the weekend and done a couple of washes (with the help of some PTFE tape!) but I’ll order a new one tomorrow for a permanent fix. Second time I’ve had it apart in the last 2 months (motor brushes last time) so hopefully nothing else goes wrong!

    Thanks and all the best,

    John
