    Hi,
I have never used the icemaker on my Samsung RSH5 Fridge Freezer. I want to remove the unit to make more space in the freezer. There appear to be two units that can be unscrewed and removed after disconnecting wiring.

    1. I have removed the top one. Is it ok to just unplug it and take the unit out.
    2. The second unit below has the light attached to it so when I remove it the light comes out too. Not ideal! Is it ok to take this unit out and is there anyway to put the light back in?

    Thanks Peter

Removing the ice-maker will cause the appliance to throw an error. If not straight away it will at power up or in case of power cut.

also any sockets the unit is plugged into which are meant to be water tight will now be exposed and subject to condensation , ice and poss short circuits

    dont do it
