I have a 2yr old Indesit WE16.
Had a few problems with this washer over the past 2 yrs but now the warranty has run out.
The problem I have is:-
when the machine is in spin mode with 3 minutes left on the clock the main fuse in the Plug blows.
This does not happen on every occasion and I can not find any common symptoms apart from it only seems to happen on a program with a 1600 spin.
The drum turn freely and there seems to be no play in the bearings.
I assume this is some sort of overload on the system Motor, as when I replace the fuse the washer starts up with no problem.
any Ideas
Just had the engineer in today to look at this problem.
Did not even bother testing the motor continuity etc just changed it out.
Plugged the machine back into the socked and turned it on, only to find that he had not put the belt back on.
Didn’t bother unplugging the machine to replace the belt and when he tilted the machine up, there was a great big bang, the engineer nearly poo’d his pant and the fuse blew again.
Well what he then found after doing what he should in the first place was that the earth connection on the main board had snapped and was shorting to the live wire, thus blowing the fuse. The intermittent fault must have been how much the machine was vibrating to the wires to touch.
Any way he didn’t bother putting the old motor back on so we have a new motor!!!
