KeymasterHi, my washing machine has Electra Electronic Deluxe 1150 on the front and it has Model number CRE 93 17018 G, Specification 170180001QW and serial number 88 100111 on the back. It also has a small plate saying Manufactured by Creda for the Electricity Company on the back. I have been trying for days to find out where I can get servicing and user handbook information but without much success. Can anyone tell me if this model has a different Creda model number ? I cannot find this number on any lists of Creda washing machines. I think that the control board, or module or whatever, needs replaced but without a valid model number I am stymied. Thanks for any help, Dan.

gm3suz,
Ah a Radio Ham from Port Glasgow eh? Well Dan that machine is pretty old right now but parts are still available (we can supply on this site by the way).
The Control Module (Part No: 1661816 – about £70) is available but first I guess you had better check that the motor brushes have’nt just worn out or maybe the water level (air bell) on the back of the drum hasn’t just got clogged up with crud?
Check it out and get back to me with more detail OK?

Thanks Martin, its a really new old machine, to explain. I bought it 4 or 5 years ago and it had been sitting in someones home for some years (5 or 10 ?) totally unused, the guys wife had died and it was still in its original packing because she had not unpacked it. It worked OK for about 3 or 4 years until I had a French student staying with me and she was always turning the knobs around whilst it was still going and eventually it began to stutter. Just after she left I tried it and it was weird, I had put some new shirts into it and I came through after an hour or so and there was steam coming through the box you put the soap powder in and I could see that the water in the machine was actually boiling, my shirts did not like being boiled for an hour. Anyway I replaced the machine with a new Hotpoint but I still have the old/new Electra. It looks brand new and I wanted to fix it and give it to a pensioner friend, whose rather old washing machine has just broken down but for £70.00 it might be better looking for a good second hand machine. Thanks for that information, and also the other person who sent me the Creda model number. 73’s es gud dx.
