BEKO Dishwasher

My Beko dishwasher DW600 Filled up but then stood idle. I took off the flow meter and blew through it and it began the wash! All good until end of cycle, machine would not close down automatically and began to refill , I had to turn off the machine then press again to discharge the water.Only then did machine beeb and turn off. I did think at first that it was filling for final rinse and let it fill but it flooded the flood device! My wife is demanding a new washer but I hate admitting defeat,just hope that someone more knowledgeable than I can help!
