Hi, a customer of mine has a Zanussi (ZOB230X) single oven. She contacted me as the fan, lights etc were working, but there was no heat. I bought a new fan element as 9 times out of 10 this is what is required, but when I installed it the oven still doesn’t heat up. Both the old & new elements have continuity when tested. I inspected the wiring for any loose connections or damage, but all was fine. I also inspected the main selector switch & thermostat for damage.

What would you surmise will be the issue? Could it be a faulty thermostat? I don’t think I’ve come across an oven not heating up (at all) due to a faulty thermostat.

The oven is quite basic and doesn’t have a timer, so it’s not because the time hasn’t been set or is on auto mode.

Also, when I select the grill setting and turn the thermostat knob, the grill heats up.

    Thanks for you help.

    Kind regards,

    Jacob
