Hi. Due to not letting the dryer cool down, the one shot thermostat has popped. I see that I may have to order a whole new heater, but thought I’d ask why I can’t replace the 2 element stats with one’s off fleabag for under a tenner – 106 and 130 deg C? I’m not being tight, my son is severely disabled and we’re just strapped with a lot of washing to do. Many thanks.

you say that but what price would you put on not having a fire. If you fit a substandard stat or one of the wrong rating it may overheat and catch fire

there is a compatible element for only £29 plus carriage. this new type of element has a stat that can be reset by pushing a button

what you also have to think about is why has it tripped. And turning it off too soon should not trip it so it sounds like it may have been running too hot. This may be caused by the front sensor

Many thanks – the NTC thermistor had indeed gone. With 1340 sold, I’ll take a chance on the replacement one shot heater thermostat – I’ve picked the lower 130 C, as opposed to 150 C to err on the side of caution.
