ParticipantHi. New to the forum but hope someone can guide me please. My washing machine seems fine i.e. display is working and I can even reset it, however when I try to start a program it just beeps twice and does nothing.
ModelWAE28468UK/22Reading other posts this seems to mean the PCB has gone however I am able to prompt the reset which other posts have not been able to do in the same scenario. I have also slammed the door shut to see if that is the problem (machine thinks the door is open) however still does not want to start a program, just likes to beep twice 🙂 The machine is approx. 8 years old, I have already replaced the pump and motor bushes so if it does seem to be the PCB at fault ………… anyone need any spare parts 🙂 Thank you in advance for any advice.

ParticipantThank you Dave for the very quick response. I have now had a play to get the childproof lock on or off. Don’t think it is that. The key symbol is not showing nor does the Start button want to do anything other than flash (red as normal) and beep twice, when I press it. Think I need to try replacing the lock before I replace the machine.
Thank you for sending the link. I searched for my model WAE28468UK but it is not showing for this door lock … although there must be 100 other bosch models listed. Is this a generic part to worth a go ?
Thanks again.May 27, 2019 at 2:24 pm #461699electrofix
Moderatorbosch parts are easy to find
go here https://www.bosch-home.co.uk/customer-service/care-protection-and-parts/spare-partsput Enr number in and find part then part no 633765
which is the link above and its a gen part
had a few of these locks break the coil inside and have managed to strip the lock and re solder the wire. which gives exactly the fault symtoms your getting

ParticipantThank you very much Dave. Very promising that you have seen the same symptom and sorting the lock fixed it. I will order a new lock and let you know how I get on.
Thanks again.May 30, 2019 at 11:24 am #461701MaxDB
ParticipantHi Dave. The new door lock has done the trick, all for just over £20 including postage.
Thank you very much for replying to my post in the first place and hope this helps someone else 🙂

Moderatorif you take the old lock apart ( bit fiddly with all the plastic clips ) you will find a small solenoid coil wrapped with very thin red wire. if you look carefully you will find the wire is broken just where it connects to the connection posts
glad you sorted it
