    Went to above machine today has blown just behind plug in mains connection by copper coil. Can’t find any faults on heater etc but worried as don’t want to blow a new board. Anyone have any idea what this area of board operates ?

    It’s power supply part… who transforms power supply into low operating voltages needed. (power switches)…
    If no other part of PCB it is blown (take measurements on capacitors for free of scc ) than you can ease put new PCB.
    I think that there is something like 7805. I do not have on hands this and picture isn’t quit good…

    not really in focus but gives me a good idea. As Baron says its the power supply chip that lowers the voltage from mains to 12volts or so for the board

    what worries me is why. has it got wet? some Neff dishwashers leak from the plastic base where it joins the stainless tank
