I have a Bosch washer-dryer, no outward signs of problems.
I do a maintenance wash once approx. once a month (powder, hot wash, no clothes/laundry) and sometimes check the trap/filter at the same time. There’s always some water in the base that I have to drain (I’d say more than 500ml, less than a litre) and when the draining pump stops at the end of a cycle, I can hear some water “slosh” back into the machine. Are either/both of these things normal…? Is it hygienic to have water from the drain pipe slop back to the machine?

no way you can stop it. drain pump need water in to work, as soon as it draws air it stops pumping so when it stop what is in the hose falls back

On another note, I have noticed suds in the final rinse recently (I say “noticed” as for all I know it may have always been this way!). As I mentioned, the machine seems to drain fine and I do a regular maintenance wash (sometimes with a special drum cleaner), anything else that could cause this? Or is it the inherent issue of water “efficient” machines?

it is surprising how little detergent is needed to still cause foam. unless you have skin problems its ok. Most machines have an option to deep rinse or add a rinse if required with the obvious increase in water usage

Drain Pump requires water to work. Soon after it draws air the Pump Stops, and the water in the hose goes back and it is quite normal.
