My 12 year old double Dishdrawer needs some help, which I am not competent to do myself. The top drawer is failing to empty and shows a flashing light with the tap icon illuminated. The lower drawer is not drying too well.

Otherwise it seems to be still in good condition, and has been pretty carefully looked after, so I am reluctant to replace it.

I did fill in the repair search, which gave one result. However, that company seems to have died 🙁

since you have 2 identical machines try this

if the top draw is failing to empty try this

remove basket and main filter. Now remove impellor assembly. if you dry out the water you will find 2 holes in this well (hoses) one of these holes leads to your waste the other comes forward and comes out where the small mesh filter is. this is the inlet to the pump and sometimes debris can find its way down there. find something softish like a large cable tie and sort of rod it through to make sure its clear

also you can take out the impellor from the lower one and swop them. most times the top draw gets more use as its easier to get at

the lower one sounds more complicated and may be a heat problem as it needs heat to dry

Thanks for the suggestion – I removed the impeller and pushed through the pipe to the filter, but it was clear. I’ve booked a F&P technician to come and take a look. I just hope s/he doesn’t condemn it!

have you also check your plumbing where the dishwasher waste connects. There will be 2 hose one for each unit and if that is blocked will give you the same symptoms
