    Hi guys,

Could somebody help me to figure out what is wrong with my freezer, please?

The freezer temperature suddenly rises up (from -20C to -5C for ex) and alarm starts beeping. After about 3-4 hours it gets back to normal (to -20C). It happens sporadically. Sometimes it happens 1-2 times in 24 hours, sometimes there is no alarm in few days although I could notice that the temperature rises up to -8C.

I removed a cover in the freezer chamber and found that the evaporator is fully covered by ice despite of it is self-defrosting system. I defrosted it and dried up. I hoped it would fix the problem with the temperature jumping. It worked more or less OK for 2-3 days. I only saw that the temperature rises up from -20 to -16. But today the alarm started to beep again. The temperature reached -5C. Apparently something is wrong with the defrost heater, some sensors or the controller. How can I detect the faulty part(s) and what would be a replacement parts number(s)?

    The model is:
    CNes 3866 Index 20B / 001
    Service Nr: 9988398-02

    Thanks

    Hi,
If you have a layer of frost and or ice across the rear back panel, your unit has become iced up on the cooling coil behind that rear panel.
This could be due to the drain becoming blocked or the door was left slightly ajar, 2mm ajar and the door alarm will not sound but the fan will run and drag warm moist air into the freezer and cause excess icing also.
Empty the unit and turn it off for 2 or 3 days ( even this may not be long enough depending on how thick the ice is ) or callout an Engineer to clear the ice for you, generally 3/4 to an hours work, again depending on the amount and thickness of ice, call Liebherr and they will put you in touch with an authorized Engineer in your area.
