Hi there,
We have a Philco Dwn 17 Dishwasher, not completely sure of the age (we got it 2nd hand).
Has worked great for the past few months since we got it.However, now whenever I try to use it, it gets part way into whatever cycle I choose
(say about 5 minutes in) and then the circuit breaker in our house gets tripped. Ive tried switching
off everything else in the house to isolate the dishwasher, but it still happens.
The only cycle that will run to completion without causing a problem is cycle 6 which is the cold
rinse and drain. So this suggests to me possibly an issue as the heating
element starts up to warm the water?Any thoughts or feedback would be most appreciated, cannot afford to replace so
am hoping repair is possible.Thank you,

Is this something that would be repairable (the heater) or would it require a new
heater? Or even new dishwasher?new heater
its got an earth fault so its tripping
I assume there is not a leak causing the machine to trip

Interesting you mention about a leak, we did see a small leak (small amount of water from the bottom of the unit)
some weeks back. Could this be causing it to trip? How would I resolve this if so? Take the back off and identify where
the leak is and fix it guess?correct
take sides off or any other access point
look for damprun machine and look for leak

Thanks for all the advice. So, it seems that the problem is the heating element as you suggested.
So, Ive been trying to find a replacement part for it. The one in my dishwasher is 230v 2000W and it
has some part numbers on it that say: 1/81/511020/13/02 and also 851000 (don’t know which is the actual
part number). Anyway, I cannot find this part anywhere online.
However, I have found a heating element for an Indesit diswasher (Philco were taken over by Indesit) and it
looks exactly the same and has the same power rating 2000W, the part number for it is: C00144898
Do you think that this would work in my dishwasher?Thanks again,

I wanted the info off the machine
probably is model DWN 17 X with a commercial code of F006990 ( this number is part of the other numbers on the label and normally appears starting 3 or 4 numbers in )
if the above is true element is listed as part no C00041093
which is described as “IMPROVED HEATING ELEMENT 2100W/230V KIT”

Okay so I looked in the machine and found the label.
So the numbers I see are:
Dwn 17X 1612430012
and underneath there is an diagram of something that looks a bit like an element and it says 2100W.
The element number you mentioned looks quite different in shape to the one in my dishwasher when I checked it out online.
Please let me know your thoughts,

this site stocks the original element you listed as a possible
https://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/c000…heater-elementit gives sizes in the info so you could measure yours element to see if the sizes match, you could also message the site to see if their info suggests it may fit
I looked up the manufacturers info, they may well have produced a different shape element to improve things. Its described as a kit so I expect extra parts to enable it to fit properly
