ParticipantHi there,
My dishwasher Bosch slimline:
E-Nr SPV40C10GB/42
FD: 9611After almost 3 years of constant use I started getting the flashing tap light. When running the ECO programme (50C) and checking now and then, the water used in the cycle was always cold so I imagine there is something wrong with the heating component or the temperature sensor. (am I right?). Also there is fat residue on whatever was covered in fat.
Question 1: How to run the diagnostic programme in my dishwasher?
Q2: I am an advanced DIYer/tinkerer, will I be able to replace the necessary parts myself? Any special tools required?
Q3: How much would an engineeer charge for this? (Inner London).
Many thanks for your help!

Moderatorif you can use a multi meter the first thing to check is heater continuity
part on your machine is this as its a complete motor heater unit

you can see the heater terminals at the top. the large plug with 3 wire. one is an earth and you need continuity between the other 2

ParticipantHi Dave,
Thanks for your quick reply and sorry for taking ages myself. I only today got around to removing the heater unit and yep, no continuity so I suppose its dead and I will be needing a new one.
For anyone reading this later – this is a super easy job. All you have to do is:
# get your dishwasher disconnected from water and power,
# take the filter and all the bits that you should clean now and then out (the mesh and the filter)
# aspirate all the water from the bottom with a turkey baster or a pasteur pipette (same thing)
# unscrew the little metal side panel on the bottom right hand side as you are looking at your dishwasher.
# take the panel off
and the do what this guy is doinghttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BKAQmq9MPN8&t=299s
All you need is a screwdriver and a turkey baster
Thanks for your help,

Moderatorto test heater all you need to do is access it via the front and you can access the heater terminals without removing motor. Unless you want to that is
