    Hi,

I am about to replace the brushes on my Bosch WAA20110EE/04 washing machine. After reading some information about electric motor brushes, I read some really bad reviews regarding alternative or low cost brushes. Among these problems, some people were complaining about the noise and the longevity of the brushes when compared to the original ones.

Are you able to tell me how does the quality of “low cost/alternative” brushes for my washing machine, compare to the original ones? I am really concern about their longevity, since I don’t want to be changing them every year, as some reviews that I have seen… Although is a quite simple job to do, I have take the dryer from top of the machine to the job, which is quite annoying…

    The original brushes are: https://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/154740-washing-machine-motor-carbon-brushes
The low cost brushes are: https://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/bs12103-washing-machine-motor-carbon-brushes

Can you give me any advice on this?

    Thanks!

Personally I always fitted genuine carbons. If access etc is a little awkward then fitting gen would give you extra piece of mind.

The problem with non gen carbons is that some are of excellent quality whilst others are very poor, you remove all uncertainty with gen ones. 😉

That’s what I am considering. Although they are substantially more expensive, and the washing machine is a few years old, I believe that with new original brushes it will last long.
