Hi, I have a range style oven that works faultlessly, until I turn it off. It seems to trip more often after it’s been running a while and warmed up. Tested the elements and they all have continuity, I havnt tested for earth leakage but would of thought it would trip while running if that was the problem. I’m guessing it’s to do with the switches themselves or possibly the selector. Anyone had any problems similar before I take it apart? Thanks

I’ll try disconnecting elements and re in stating 1 at a time to see if i can locate the faulty element/s. What would be the reason for it tripping at switch off though rather than when it’s running?

the leak will be on the neutral side and when you switch off the neutral switches slightly before the live which makes the element live on both terminals and this means more current flows to earth and blows the trip
